First Snow!

Today is our first real snow of the Season here in the Shenandoah Valley! (True, we had an ice storm a few weeks ago, but that just isn’t quite the same. ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

And it’s Sunny’s first snow too!

At first, she took after Joe very strongly, and was not at all impressed by snow; she just wanted to explore…

So we did. We went over the bridge and explored for a bit!

These are Sunny’s snowy paw prints.

Then she got excited about the snow, and caught a case of the snow-zoomies…

Followed by a game of snowy-hide-and seek…

And lastly, she dug in for a taste of snow!

After our early morning (it was 7 am when we went out) snowy antics, it’s now time for some coziness!

Here we are, warm and dry indoors, where I am beginning a new knitting project (details and pattern to come!) in natural colors,…

…and Sunny is getting sleepy for a good nap on her favorite blanket nearby!

I’m sure we’ll go out again later for another snowy romp, and possibly a snowy walk in the forest too!

What is making you happy, and what are you enjoying on this lovely snowy day??

Cozy Day

Hooray for snow!

I was really hoping for at least one good snow storm this winter, and here it is! โ„๏ธโ›„๏ธโ„๏ธโ„๏ธโ„๏ธ

Joe, on the other hand, claims to hate snow, rolls his eyes at my snow-induced glee, and checks every half hour to see if the snow has stopped so he can go out and start clearing it! I think maybe I shall attempt to bribe him into going on a snow-walk with me tomorrow! If he has fun (hope!) then maybe he’ll start to see that snow isn’t all bad… ๐Ÿ˜Š

These cute little birds were all excited about something in our drive! They were so adorable!

By dusk, we concluded that we now have over 12″ of snow!โ„๏ธ

A nice hot cup of tea and my knitting made for a very cozy afternoon!

Do do you like snow? What are your favorite ways to enjoy it?

Snow!

First snow of the season! And before Thanksgiving too!

image

I started for work VERY early, wanting to be on time regardless of lovely white flakes swirling through the air…

image

I finally made it! In one piece (despite several scares) and on time! Perfect day to wrap up in warm woollies to keep the chill away…

The shawl is the Flambรฉ One Skein Shawl (pattern by Michell Miller of Fickle Knitter), and the hat (above) is my Hounds Tooth Hat.

The pretty view from from my office window…

Now the hubby and I are off to be with family!

Wishing each and every one of you a wonderful and joy filled Thanksgiving!

Spring

The Harbinger of Spring has arrived, Friends…

The Harbinger of Spring (a.k.a. The Robin)
The Harbinger of Spring (a.k.a. The Robin)

… and we all know what this means – Spring is Coming!ย In fact, it has already arrived! What a glorious thought! For anyone who has doubts,ย I even have proof!

Look at this…

I think these may be Hyacinths

And this…

Daffodils!

And this little guy…

I got SO excited when I spotted this brave little guy already blooming away!

I think this is a variety of crocus

And then I nearly fell over when I came around the corner and found these beauties!

So don’t worry guys! It doesn’t matter if it snows next week! Spring has arrived and Spring is tough as nails! A little (or a lot) of snow won’t scare Spring away – it’s here to stay! I don’t know about you, but that makes me really glad!

So glad in fact, that I couldn’t help casting on for a new Spring-time knitting project while I was sitting out on the back deck breathing the warm air, listening to the birds singing, and thoroughly enjoying this glorious morning!

Here’s a sneak peek…

What?! That doesn’t count? Okay, one more tiny peek…

That’s all for now! I’ll tell you all about it another time!

How are you enjoying this gorgeous Spring day?
